Until the age of 10, I was scared whenever I had to enter elevators. Today, I’m not scared anymore, but now and then I still have some nightmares in which I’m trapped in one of them. Strangely enough, I’ve never been actually trapped in an elevator, so I don’t understand why I have these recurring nightmares.

Now, I wonder how Nicholas White felt when he got trapped for 41 hours in an elevator!!! It happened in the McGraw-Hill building in New York, on October 15th, 1999. His agony lasted the whole weekend. After that, Nicholas, who worked in the Business Week magazine, sued the building’s administration and the elevator maintenance company and received an undisclosed indemnity.

Recently, the New Yorker magazine release a videotape showing his 41 hours confinement. Take a look and imagine yourself in his place.
